How long do sensors need to be monitoring before I have ‘baseline’ metrics?

This article explains how long Centaur® grain quality sensors must monitor before baseline metrics and analytics become available in the Internet-of-Crops® platform.

Baseline Monitoring Time

Grain quality sensors must collect at least 24 hours of data before analytics and predictions for the stored grain become available.

Sensor Classification

  • In-grain sensors
Only sensors detected as being inside the grain produce grain-specific metrics.

  • Ambient sensors
Sensors not detected as in-grain continue reporting ambient conditions only.

Metrics Availability

Grain-specific metrics, such as Moisture Content and Product Temperature, are generated only for in-grain sensors. Ambient sensors do not contribute to grain analytics.

This completes the overview of sensor baseline monitoring requirements in the Centaur® Internet-of-Crops® platform.
